SCP AND DONNA WILSON SHOW THEIR NEW RUG COLLECTION
This September, in celebration of the London Design Festival, SCP and textile designer, Donna Wilson will be showing their new range of rugs at SCP East. Donna’s collection includes hand-tufted, knitted and flatweave rugs. Using these three very different traditional production techniques, SCP has created a collection of rugs, which excite and inspire but also fit a variety of needs. Handmade in India, all stages of the production process takes place under one roof from sourcing the fleece to weaving the rugs. “Visiting India was rich in inspiration and we were filled with admiration for the manufacturing processes and skills employed at the factories,” says Sheridan Coakley, owner of SCP.
Donna’s designs include:
Fairisle, a hand loomed rug with a knitted appearance and a pattern based loosely on the Fairisle sweater design.
Mountain Spot, a traditional flatweave kilim rug that depicts snow-covered mountain peaks.
Scope, Corners and Whirl, which are hand tufted rugs. Scope has been inspired by the colours and shapes found in a kaleidoscope while Whirl, employs Donna’s trademark, hand drawn leaf motif positioned haphazardly on the rug to create a wind-blown effect. Corners is a composition of vibrant blocks of colour, which creates a bold yet simple design.
“I wanted to put my own handwriting on the collection, as well as creating an exciting range of practical rugs,” says Donna. "The whole collection is based around fragments of colour and shape and playing with the composition and proportion of colour."

We are very pleased to welcome all of our customers to the new and improved SCP website. It's been a (very) long time coming and although some parts are still in development, we are pleased to be able to launch a new online shop, an SCP blog and a whole area dedicated to our own SCP brand.
The website is split into four main areas that explain a little better what it is that we do.
Shop
Firstly there is our online shop where we sell our carefully selected range of products to customers across the world. Currently all accessories and lighting are available to buy online as well as a selection of furniture.
Contracts
An area dedicated to our Contracts division who have been working directly with architects and interiors designers for over 14 years. This section of the website will contain SCP Contract's extensive product catalogue, a detailed portfolio of projects we have worked on and an interactive tool that allows specifiers to collate and save their own list of products of interest. This area is still under development and will be launching wthin the next few months.
Brand
In the past it hasn't always been easy to communicate to our customers that we are not only a shop but we also design and make our own furniture too. This area of the website has details of our own ranges of furniture, upholstery and accessories, information about our upholstery factory Coakley and Cox, biographies of all of the designers, a timeline of the SCP brand covering our 25 year history from the launch in 1985 to present day, details of our two London shops and details of all of our stockists across the globe.
Blog
The blog gives us the opportunity to keep everyone up to date with all happenings at SCP including product launches, exhibitions, in store events and things of general interest. As well as a place to find out about the latest news we hope that it will act as an extension of our already existing Twitter and Facebook pages, a forum for discussion and interaction.

SCP will be displaying and selling a selection of designs from their 2010 Collection in Milan at the exhibition ‘100% British Design’. The exhibition will run from 10th April – 2nd May 2010 at Design Supermarket in the prestigious Milanese Department store La Rinascente where a wide selection of designs from the best British furniture and lighting brands will be presented alongside the work of new British designers.

The Design Supermarket at La Rinascente was designed by Minimalist architect Claudio Silvestrin and was opened in 2009. Covering 2000m², Design Supermarket occupies the entire basement floor of the 7 storey Department store and is devoted entirely to showcasing the latest design from lighting and furniture to accessories and technology from more than 200 different brands.
