
Furniture manufacturer SCP requires a Production and Product Developer to work in their
head office in Shoreditch.
About SCP:
SCP produces, wholesales and retails
high-quality products for the home. . SCP is firmly
established as one of the UK's most innovative and internationally respected manufacturers
and suppliers of contemporary design.We develop new
products every year with established and emerging designers and launch our
ranges at trade fairs around the world.
Reporting to the Production Manager, your main areas of responsibility include:
Product development
> Technical drawings in 2D and 3D for products in the SCP range and bespoke editions of
SCP products
> Product specifications
> Liaising with manufacturers and designers, both in UK and internationally.
> Prototype and sample new designs
> Packaging development
> Product costing
Exhibitions
> Co-ordinate SCP exhibitions in UK and Europe
> Install the exhibitions on site
> Liaise with organiser / contractor / designers
Production
> Co-ordinate production of SCP branded products
> Control stock levels of SCP products
> Issue manufacturers with purchase orders / approve invoices
> Source and visit manufacturers in UK and Europe
> Quality control of samples and prototypes and production batches
> Logistics
Requirements:
>2-3 years experience in a relevant role.
>Advanced level of AutoCAD, Solidworks, Adobe Creative Suite
>Technically proficient at all levels of developing a product
>Demonstrable knowledge of materials and manufacturing
>A qualification or background in furniture/product design or production

>Good admin skills
>Keen interest in contemporary design
>A hands-on approach to development
