Tala curry measure
Born in Glasgow and brought up in an Indian household, Jasleen Kaur was familiar with Tala’s Cook’s Measure from seeing it in her dad’s hardware store. Having used the Cook’s Measure for some years, Jasleen wanted to create a version for the kind of things she loves to eat like her mum’s homemade dahl and chapattis. She has designed this measure based on well tried family recipes to enable you to create the same.
The new Curry Measure is inspired by the simplicity of the original, but where the Cook’s Measure measures dry ingredients without the use of scales, the Curry Measure acts as dish. Simply measure each ingredient to its guide line and tip it into the pot as you follow the recipe to make a warming Dahl or Dad’s Chicken Curry. “It is designed to get you back to cooking intuitively, without the milliliters and grams but by eye – just as my mum and gran taught me. From a curry house classic Jalfrezi to an impressive hand made Chapatti, once you’ve mastered the Tadka Curry Base you are free to experiment with whatever is left in your fridge!”
