Boxton is simply constructed from four powder-coated sheet metal uprights and two horizontal stained plywood squares. The design has a theatrical silhouette due to a gentle curve in the shape of the uprights and the conical black feet, which are made in Acetal.

Initially launched to critical acclaim in 2009, the SCP Boxed Collection challenged designers to create smaller-scale pieces that fit within the dimensions of a standard DHL international shipping box (480 x 400 x 390mm). More broadly, the aim was to design objects that could be easily carried out of a store or efficiently shipped via e-commerce.
For 2025, SCP has revisited the Boxed Collection brief, inviting a mix of established designers and emerging talent to explore the concept once again. With no restrictions on material, the brief encourages a diverse range of product typologies, reflecting the evolving landscape of contemporary design.
