Adico was born in 1920, through the hands and vision of Comendador Adelino Dias Costa, starting its activity with the production of iron beds. In the 30’s Adico addressed its production to the hospital furniture, showing a remarkable aptitude for sophisticated technologies at that time, such as hydraulic surgery tables. At this same period, Adico develops a production line of tables and chairs for outdoors, which among them is the iconic traditional Portuguese chair. In the 40s’, Adico already had about 350 workers and controlled exports for the Portuguese ex-colonies markets, becoming the biggest producer in hospital furniture. From the 90s’ until nowadays, Adico has concentrated its efforts in developing new lines of chairs for indoors and outdoors, becoming a distinguished company in the national and international market for hostelry furniture.
