End of line Dalston in the 80s
Book 13 from the series ‘East London Photo Stories’
Dalston in the 80s is fashion photographer Andrew Holligan’s document of the East London. For Holligan, Dalston was worlds apart from the New York fashion scene where he worked until 1984. On the Dalston streets, he found a humanity that changed his art and his life forever.
Photgraphed using a 1950s Rolleiflex, hand-written notes accompany the black and white images, telling Holligan’s personal story whilst giving an insight to the numerous subjects he met in his 2 years living in the area.
