Cesca stool

Marcel Breuer | Knoll

Cesca is a tubular steel chair with a cantilevered frame and woven cane back and seat. To mark the 100th anniversary of the Bauhaus, Knoll have introduced the Cesca chair in two new heights; as a bar stool and counter stool.

Product Information
With the 1928 Cesca chair, Bauhaus member Marcel Breuer married traditional craftsmanship with industrial methods. The seminal design helped to popularise tubular steel furniture in the 20th century.

The cantilevered frame exploits the inherent strength of steel and gives the stool added flexibility and comfort, while the woven wicker cane inserts bring a lightness and character to the overall design.

Like its predecessors, the Cesca stool combines materials in a simple yet sophisticated way. It is well suited for use in homes, offices and dining spaces. The KnollStudio logo and the signature of Marcel Breuer are stamped into the base of every Cesca chair.

Hardwood beech seat/back frames and arms with natural clear lacquer finish. Machine woven cane inserts. Frame: 25mm diameter round steel tube with chrome-plated finish. Glides: Opaque plastic glides shipped with each chair for optional on-site insertion to use on hard floors.
