Description
With the 1928 Cesca chair,
Bauhaus member Marcel Breuer married traditional craftsmanship with industrial methods. The seminal design
helped to popularise tubular steel furniture in the 20th century.
The cantilevered frame exploits the inherent strength of steel and gives the stool added flexibility and comfort, while the woven wicker cane inserts bring a lightness and character to the overall design.
Like its predecessors, the Cesca stool combines materials in a simple yet sophisticated way. It is well suited for use in homes, offices and dining spaces. The KnollStudio logo and the signature of Marcel Breuer are stamped into the base of every Cesca chair.
